Tips for a Healthy Liver!

The liver is one of the most important organs in our body, without it a person cannot survive. To have an idea of its importance, here is a list of some of the things the liver is responsible for:

- Filters the blood coming from the digestive tract and breaks down harmful substances.

- Metabolizes drugs.

- Secretes the bile to help with the digestion of fats in the intestines.

- Makes proteins that are essential for blood clotting.

- Produces, stores and releases vitamins and minerals into the blood.


This is why it is necessary to know which foods can support it's health, and which habits could affect it in a negative way.


Below you will find a list of antioxidants and vitamin B rich foods that can help support the health of the liver.

Antioxidants:

  1. All berries (including goji berries)

  2. Citrus fruits

  3. Beets

  4. Broccoli

  5. Turmeric

  6. Red grapes
